The Deputy Chief of Party is overall responsible for implementation activities under SHOUHARDO II. S/he will work closely with (and supervise) the Regional Coordinators in providing leadership, direction and oversight to the program operations at the field level. The DCoP will also supervise the infrastructure component, including Environment and ensure activities are completed as per plans and donors' requirements, particularly compliance to USAID, GoB and CARE’s policies, while providing advice on the overall program. Responsibilities include: operational planning of program activities in cooperation with the regional teams, ensure effective implementation of plans, partnership programming and resource management. The incumbent will maintain good relations with appropriate stakeholders, LGED, line ministries, NGOs at the national level; and ensuring that the program maintains a commitment to promotion and protection of rights and building capacity of SHOUHARDO staff (both CARE and NGO), and service providers. The DCoP will work closely with the National Technical Coordinator to ensure a strong technical backbone to implementation to enhance the “quality” of programming. The DCoP will also work closely with the Knowledge Management Coordinator to ensure efficient information systems and professional documentation is produced to promote learning within and external to the Program.
