Senior Research Officer with the Respiratory Vaccines under the Centre for Vaccine Sciences (Internal Advertisement #256/12)

icddr,b invites applications from suitable candidates(Staff members & CSA holders) for the position of Senior Research Officer with the Respiratory Vaccines under the Centre for Vaccine Sciences. The appointment will be made on a Fixed-Term basis for 1 year, but may be extended for further period depending on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

         
       
   
 


Perform laboratory assays such as real time PCR (RT PCR);

Multiplex RTPCR for detection of pathogen from various biological samples;

Perform multiplex PCR for serotyping;

Supervising and co-coordinating various laboratory experiments for research;

Organize the results, analyze and interpret lab data and prepare evaluative summary reports;

Training of staff on quality performance of laboratory tasks;

Work in Virology Laboratory under PERCH project;
 
         
   


Masters degree in Biochemistry and Molecular biology/Microbiology;
 
 
   


5 years working experience in laboratory based research activities;
 
 
     


Sound knowledge and understanding of Laboratory Techniques & equipments is desirable;

Should be able to trouble shoot common problems with experiments;

Ability to follow the standard operation procedure (SOP);

Computer proficiency in using MS Office is essential;

Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
 
 
   
 
Annual Tk. 482,700/- inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances with other admissible benefits.
 
     
   
 


14.8% retirement fund contribution by icddr,b, children allowance @Tk.1,420/- per child per month, medical facilities for dependent spouse and children, group life insurance and subsidized canteen. Subsidized transport and daycare facilities subject to availability.
